Barbara Di Renzo
Mixed Media Artist & Jewellery Designer
Left Align Design Art Studio

Barbara Di Renzo is a mixed media artist, jewellery designer and art instructor from Cambridge, Ontario. She creates beautiful artwork and hand crafted jewellery, incorporating metals sourced from recycling plants and metal industries. These recycled metals include siding torn down from buildings, clock parts, industrial cut outs or found objects that inspire her. Barbara then cuts, hand forges, heat colours or oxidizes these metals and transforms them into interesting sculptures to complement her contemporary paintings and wearable art. She aligns the metal on her artwork to the left of the canvas, which generated the name of her art studio: Left Align Design.

Barbara was inspired by her father, Luciano Di Renzo, whose woodwork graces the Privy Council Office of the Parliament buildings, and the private collection of Queen Elizabeth. As a child, her home was filled with furniture, carvings and beautiful paintings created by her father, which encouraged her love for art.

Barbara teaches jewellery workshops at her art studio in Cambridge, as well as
at Homer Watson House & Gallery in Kitchener. Her paintings/jewellery have been exhibited across Ontario including, UpTown Gallery and The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) in Waterloo, The Museum and WalterFedy in Kitchener and she is an artist-in-residence for the Galt Country Club and Franklin Medical Centre in Cambridge. Barbara's jewellery is also available at the Cambridge Centre for the Arts Gift Shop and The Kultrun Market in Waterloo.

"Barbara brings forth a dynamic colour form while incorporating recycled materials, to not only present wonderful pieces of art but a subtle reminder that ecology should be foremost in our thoughts. This artist offers warmth in her paintings and a thought provoking vision". ~ Adelaide Street Gallery
