Barbara Di Renzo - Metal Artist, Jewellery Designer & Art Instructor

Barbara Di Renzo is an award winning artist and jewellery designer from Cambridge, Ontario. She creates beautiful artwork, sculptures and jewellery, incorporating metals sourced from recycling plants and metal industries. These metals include siding torn down from buildings, industrial parts or found objects that inspire her. Barbara hand forges, flame paints or oxidizes these metals, transforming them into sculptural designs to complement her contemporary paintings and wearable art.

She mainly aligns the metal on her artwork and jewellery to the left, which grew into her signature trademark and generated the name of her art studio: Left Align Design. Barbara was inspired by her father, Luciano Di Renzo, whose woodwork graces the Privy Council Office of the Parliament buildings, and the private collection of Queen Elizabeth. As a child, her home was filled with furniture, carvings and beautiful paintings created by her father, which encouraged her love for art.

Barbara is an award recipient of the 2017 and 2018 Cambridge Recognition for Outstanding Arts & Cultural Achievement. Her artwork has been exhibited across Ontario including,
UpTown Gallery and The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) in Waterloo and Homer Watson House & GalleryThe Museum and WalterFedy in Kitchener. Her artwork/jewellery is in the private collections of Galt Country Club and CAF Innovative Shapecasting in Cambridge, Holy Rosary Church  in Guelph and Senator Kim Pate, the executive director of the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies. Barbara was featured on Rogers Daytime 20 in 2016, in Grand Magazine's March/April 2018 Edition , in Grand Magazine's Sept.Oct. 2018 Edition and on CBC News Kitchener/Waterloo.
